It's OK as it stands, but I'm not sure that it's the right "quick hack"
fix.
The problem is the hard-coded "4095": I don't think that it's the correct
value, and it's possible the choke point could come earlier (although I
believe that this would be unlikely; it's not likely unless the system is
low on resources for handling tty input).
The proper "quick hack" fix is elusive :-}
Why not cut it back, say to 2047?
