Hi,
The spkg here now works for me on sage.math (at least it builds fine).
Bill helped me fix an issue with missing -fPIC.

I fixed the build issues.
I ran the full sage test suite and all tests pass on 3.4.alpha0...
However, probably related, 190GB of RAM were being used. So there may be
a massive memory leak... somehow.
