If I undersand correctly after just looking at the diff from the previous
version, you now use spkg-write-makefile to generate Makefile.build which
is later used to build autotools et al. and requires Sage with autotools,
whence the impossibility to generate it on the fly.
But, is there really no reason to track it in the Mercurial tree?
