 cannot build the Singular rpm with that option as it always fails in the
 kernel subdirectory due to missing omEmulate* declarations.

 Yes, my edits in the linked-to singular spkgs add declarations to make
 those errors go away. I didn't exactly respect the rest of build options
 in the process, though (because I didn't understand them). Cleaning that
 up to a well-defined patch to the singular package would be a great help.
