 My holidays are done :)  And it does look like there has been some
 activity on the ECL list again.  But really I think there is no reason to
 wait on upstream; Sage does contribute upstream, but we still take care of
 our own.  Is there anything ''else'' you would want to change here?  even
 the whole "generate smaller patch" thing seems less significant.  As far
 as I'm concerned, the current spkg is fine especially since the
 "dependencies" in Maxima and ECL are in/positive review.
