 Good point (although a speed regression is to be expected anyway, we cache
 less things so will have to rebuild them, unless being very careful; I
 guess the goal is that this speed regression is not terrible on average).

 Do you have scripts that automatically look for these? Let's say by
 comparing the runtime of doctests?
 Or do you have to find them by inspection?
