 Yes, but I doubt this checksum is meant to be used for checking for bit
 errors. Even the ticket description talks about truncated files, which
 would almost certainly mean that the checksum cannot be extracted. If the
 spkg file can be extracted without errors, it is extremely unlikely that
 it got corrupted, I think that's a good enough check.

 Therefore, I would consider closing this as "wontfix".
