Comment (by vbraun):

 Whats the expected output?
 {{{
 sage: [trenza(f,[1,I,-1,-I,1],exact=True,step=0.5) for i in range(5)]
 [(None, (None, (None, None))),
  (None, (None, (None, None))),
  (None, (None, (None, None))),
  (None, (None, (None, None))),
  (None, (None, (None, None)))]
 sage: trenza(f,[1,I,-1,-I,1],exact=True,step=0.5)
 (None, (None, (None, None)))
 }}}
