 system is almost certainly a bad idea. One should never just add `-m32` or
 `-m64` to the `CFLAGS`. I would also avoid adding the `-mtune` and `-mcpu`
 options.
 I agree, the compiler should be smart enough to decide what to compile by
 default, and the user should take the responsibility to pass such options.
