My guess is just that the cache in that version isn't reset after each
run. If you add {{{tutte_polynomial.cache.clear()}}} before the {{{if
tutte_polynomial(G,x,y) == tutte_polynomial(G.complement(),x,y):}}} line,
you won't have that problem.
