I had another look at the proofs in the paper and the _frobenius_shift
stuff definitely seems to make sense (on top of the fact that without it
everything is broken :)), due to the fact we use actual concrete
representations of the fields whereas the algorithm is somehow more
abstract.
So now we're back with the problems from
