Either way you'll have to return 0 only if the embeddings are the same. So
for all purposes the variety with and without embedding are distinct, and
we may just as well make the types different by making the embedding case
a subclass. Also, it would be nice if `_repr_` would distinguish the case
with and without embedding so there is not too much of a surprise if they
do not compare as equal.
