I'm using OS X 10.8.5 with Xcode 5.0, which means that `gcc --version`
returns

Apple LLVM version 5.0 (clang-500.2.76) (based on LLVM 3.3svn)

The old mpir spkg fails to build for known reasons. The new mpir spkg
fails also, though.
