I have fixed the problems in [attachment:path_test.pyx].
It was:
1. bitshift by a wrong offset, and
2. the bits that aren't used (e.g., the last 4 bits of an uint64_t when
storing 12 arrows of size 5 bits) should be kept blank.
The latter involves an additional bitwise "and". So, probably the timings
will slightly deteriorate.
