Comment:

 Someone asked me about this today, so I tried my suggestion from
 comment:78.  At this moment the only thing that I'm not too sure about is
 if non-identical parents should be allowed to compare equal.  At this
 moment they compare equal if and only if their PCLs compare equal.  There
 is something to be said for the convention that two instances should be
 equal if and only if they are identical, but the current state of affairs
 does not seem to break anything, so we can also decide to leave it like it
 is.
