 Seems like one actually needs to construct a `number` by starting with
 `nPar(i)` (which is a function pointer to `ntPar`, IIUC) and conversion of
 integers, and then add, multiply and divide. Or is there a way to directly
 convert a polynomial in variables `a,b,c` into a number in parameters
 `a,b,c`? After all, there is this globally accessible ring `nacRing`
 hosting numerator and denominator of a function field element.
