 Thanks Fredrik, I fixed that (although it was not the only problem, by
 far).

 The previous commit was not finished yet (sorry for the confusing commit
 message). I believe that now the memory leaks are gone (at least those
 that were detected by William's tests). The main problem was that the
 get_unsafe_mpz function was initializing the value that it modifies in
 place, and all functions calling it were also mpz_init'ing it as well. All
 should be good now.
