I cannot give a constructive comment since I don't understand the problem.

I mainly don't understand why you don't simply increase the version
number. The second release of 1.1.2 should have been 1.1.3 and the most
recent version should have been 1.1.4.

That would not really be "more convenient" since it doesn't provide ready-
made tarballs.
