 jdemeyer: not a very constructive comment.
 I have tried the suggestion proposed by dimpass, unfortunately it does not
 work. If another suggestion works, I'll integrate it but I don't have time
 to search for that myself, bug fixing and enhancements is my priority, and
 that's also true for projects that consider giac *seriously* (geogebra, HP
 Prime calculator, Pocket CAS to name a few). If you don't like that I keep
 the same tarball name, it would perhaps be more convenient for sage to
 work from the geogebra SVN repository of giac:
 https://dev.geogebra.org/trac/browser/trunk/geogebra/common/src/giac
