Please split this commit into thematic changes. Reviewing code like that
takes a *lot* of time and you make it more complicated by doing everything
at once.
As I do not know what exactly you do in this patch, all I can do is look
at the diff, and try to understand. Please look at this diff, you will see
what the reviewer has to go through.
