Ok so I've gone ahead and changed the test in the spots where we had
strange dictionaries with a mixture of key types.
They now all pass on both my machines.
I haven't gone with jdemeyer's suggestion (very humbly and of course happy
to change it). I felt that going through the keys individually was perhaps
more helpful from the point of view of documentation (I agree that from
the point of view of tests that the suggestion is better as it corresponds
to a single test instead of 3). Let me know what you think.
