Comment:
Since Amit did not answer lately, i decided to step up and do some cleanup
and polishing of the code. Maybe documentation can be improved, but i
think besides that it is pretty much ready for review.
Bad news is that, since i am now an author, somebody else should do the
reviewing instead of me.
