 My understanding of the discussion was that ``self`` should not be listed
 in the INPUT section (I actually need to argue further in the thread for I
 don't necessarily agree). I don't remember it being a problem elsewhere in
 the docstring. But I need to reread the thread.

 That being said, "of this cartesian product" is a bit redundant but it
 reads nicely to remind the user of the context. So this can be a good idea
 here.
