Hello Volker,
This ticket is about reverting the changes from #17821, and your last
commits are adding customization to the 'pretty_print' output. Could we
stick to the subject, and could you add this (deprecated) show function
which behaves like `show(a_graph)` used to behave (with a deprecation) of
course?
