As it happens, I had started doing my own version of something similar a
while ago at a time where I had no internet access and hence without
seeing this ticket. Your implementation is probably better, but I pushed
mine to `u/mmezzarobba/subs` in case somebody wants to see if there is
anything to be salvaged. (I may doit myself in a few days/weeks, but I
have no time right now.)
