I don't know if it will be fixed, but the error messages that flash are
that it cannot load webfonts. This may be something special for our
computer setup (= whatever campus IT guys are doing, things are fine on my
desktop), but at least in the past SVG worked quite well and presumably
does not have issues of PNG fonts.
Related to multiple copies - surely that is not !MathJax's fault! If there
is a need to have fonts in each folder, couldn't it be achieved via
symlinks?
