Dear Simon,
+1 on cythonizing CombinatorialFreeModuleElement (but not
CombinatorialFreeModule unless there is a compelling reason)
ok on inheriting from ModuleElement.
-1 on inheriting from RingElement. It's too much of an abuse.
Can you elaborate on the speed issue?
