Reviewed your changes.
Doctests pass, documentation builds, code is ok.
Obviously, inclusion of this ticket alone into !SageMath is not useful.
However, once everything mentioned in the meta ticket #17601 is merged,
this should be very useful. It will take some more time to finish and then
review all those tickets.
Despite all that, a first step has to be made, so I set this to
positive_review.
