I disagree. Holding back on allowing C++11 just means
* taking on more technical debt as authors can't take advantage of the new
features, writing code that may have to be changed later
* prevent contributors from being exposed to new C++11 features, slowing
down their learning
* online C++ resources increasingly include C++11 features, making it even
more difficult to learn how to not use them
* delaying the inevitable, we'll have to shitlist broken compilers anyways
