[http://trac.edgewall.org/ Trac] is a problem tracker for software
projects. For example, see here.
The latest available Trac spkg is
[http://www.sagemath.org/packages/optional/ old]. Version
[http://trac.edgewall.org/browser/tags/trac-0.11.5/RELEASE 0.11.5] may
include several new features, either
[http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracGuide built-in] or
[http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/PluginList added-on] ([http://trac-
hacks.org/ more plug-ins]). Moreover, we can use the spkg to test
potential improvements to [http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac Sage trac].
See [http://groups.google.com/group/sage-
devel/browse_thread/thread/257b1e92d98c40d7/724cc866319332a0?#724cc866319332a0
sage-devel] for a discussion of requested features and potentially useful
plug-ins.
The new spkg is available at
*
http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/mpatel/trac/6928/trac-0.11.5.p0.spkg
To set up the web admin plug-in and Mercurial repository browser, please
see `SPKG.txt`. Or do approximately the following
* `sage -f trac-0.11.5.p0.spkg`
* `sage`
* `sage: trac()` Press "enter" four times, then "Control-C."
* Quit sage or focus another terminal.
* `cd $SAGE_ROOT/local/lib/python/site-packages/sage_trac/conf`
* `htdigest passwd localhost admin` Enter admin's password, twice.
* `cd ..`
* `trac-admin . permission add admin TRAC_ADMIN`
* Update `$SAGE_ROOT/local/lib/python/site-
packages/sage_trac/conf/trac.ini` with
{{{
[components]
tracext.hg.* = enabled
webadmin.* = enabled
[hg]
node_format = short
show_rev = yes
# "trac" section should already exist. Expand $SAGE_ROOT manually.
[trac]
repository_dir = $SAGE_ROOT/devel/sage
repository_type = hg
}}}
* `sage: trac()`
* Browse to `http://localhost:10000/sage_trac`
* Click "Browse Source" or log in as admin and click "Admin".
The lines above set up a minimal Trac server, add "admin" as an
administrator, and enable "sage" repository browsing. For more on the
latter, see [http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracMercurial TracMercurial].
