I think I can address most of those points at once by implementing the
other quotient method. Is there a better name for it than
`solid_quotient`?
I thought it was weird that the result of `strict_quotient` was being
cached. Do you forsee it being called more than once without being bound
to a variable? In any case, I copied that behavior to the new method.
