 Does this `Makefile` come from `gap` upstream or from `gap3_jm`?

 To start with, I would remove these: `mv gap ../bin/gap.x86linux`. Then at
 least the name of the executable won't be system-dependent.

 Second, are the `x86linux-gcc` and `x86linux-gcc64` rules really
 `x86`-specific? At first sight, this doesn't seem to be the case: I think
 it is just 32-bit Linux and 64-bit Linux.
