 This {{{Makefile}}} comes from {{{gap3_jm}}}, the {{{Makefile}}} in the
 last official version is this + even more options.

 least the name of the executable won't be system-dependent.

 Okay, no problem.

 > Second, are the x86linux-gcc and x86linux-gcc64 rules really
 x86-specific? At first sight, this doesn't seem to be the case: I think it
 is just 32-bit Linux and 64-bit Linux.

 Is there a way to find that out? I compiled {{{GAP3}}} for the first time
 ever to get this optional package.
