Okay, I have fixed the code issues I came across, merged in
`u/fuglede/17030` but changed how the Jones polynomial was called (in
particular, it should be available for the braid group elements), added a
hack around the 0x0 matrix determinant issue noted in comment:155, and
made it so the link actually removed unused strands from an input as a
braid group element. So back to needing review.
