 After I coded up the previous suggestion, I felt the best way was to
 simply run the whole thing with a bit of extra precision. This way the
 last couple bits in the final iteration will actually be correct for that
 step, not just as correct as they could be due to rounding limitations. I
 also fixed a bug with a.agm(-a) and added some more tests.

 I folded it into the above patch, so apply trac_7719-agm.patch and
 7719-bugfix2.patch. I'm positively reviewing cremona's changes--he needs
 to look at mine.
