Note also that #8191, which already has positive review and I believe will
be in the next release, needs changes to spkg/install and
spkg/standard/deps. These need to be coordinated with patches.
I'd love to try your fixes, but I'm not sure how to apply a patch like
this to the Sage library. Perhaps if you could give me an idiots buide to
how to do this with Mercurial, I'll try it.
