I think I got it: The[wiki:PolyBoRi] SPKG in 4.5.2 ships its own M4RI (and
Boost) which conflicts with this new M4RI SPKG, thus since Leif removed
this redundant copy of M4RI in the PolyBoRi, it works in 4.5.3.alpha0 but
not before.
