 I suggest that when we are close to having a version of all this which we
 want to release (as 4.6.alpha0 or whatever), which is soon now, we
 (William or me probably) let the two lead Pari developers know that this
 is happening, and tell them which svn version we are considering going
 with.  It may be that they recommend waiting for some bugs they know about
 and have nearly fixed.  (But we cannot wait for ever, of course.)

 It is also possible that they may be  pleased that a certain Pari version
 has had extensive testing through being part of a Sage release (and they
 may even say so, though that is slightly less likely).  In any case, when
 the new spkg and all the related patches are in Sage then it will be very
 easy to upgrade to to a new Pari svn for new bug fixes.
