The `patches/autogenerated/m4` directory had symlinks to `/usr` instead of
copies, this probably caused the build failure on OSX. I guess all
previous users had `automake-1.11` already... I've updated the spkg, can
you try the updated spkg at
http://www.stp.dias.ie/~vbraun/Sage/spkg/TOPCOM-0.16.2.p2.spkg
