I think we already have nearly all we need in
`SAGE_ROOT/spkg/pipestatus`
which we use often in
`SAGE_ROOT/spkg/standard/deps`
For upgrades from Sage versions without `pipestatus`: What if we create
`pipestatus` in the `makefile` instead of in `spkg/install`?
Leif mentioned using `pipestatus` or the equivalent in the `makefile`
