What if we use the [http://docs.python.org/library/gc.html gc module] to
wrap some lines in a `gc.enable()` / `gc.disable()` block? Or use
`gc.collect`? There's also `sage.interfaces.expect.gc_disabled()`, a
`with` statement context manager.
