#9896: upgrading from 4.5.3 to 4.6.alpha0 fails on OS X 10.6

 On two separate machines running OS X 10.6, upgrading from 4.5.3 to
 4.6.alpha0 seemed to work -- no errors were reported -- but Sage fails to
 start:
