John, can you provide a link to the full PARI spkg install log?
I also wonder if somehow PARI uses parts of its old installation (in
{{{$SAGE_LOCAL/{lib,include/pari}/}}}) during the build (which one would
not necessarily see in the log though). It would be safer to delete all
these files prior to upgrading...
Does the stand-alone interpreter work?
