The extension {{{.so}}} doesn't seem to be the problem, since apparently
the loader recognizes it as a shared library.
The extension {{{.a}}} for ''shared'' libraries is of course a bit odd
since PARI also builds a static version which typically has the same name
ending with {{{.a}}}...
