 I'm confused about your volume statement.  A regular simplex with edge
 length 1 has a volume of about 0.18.  This simplex has a volume of about
 0.048, about 40% of the regular simplex.  The largest edge length is about
 1.03, the smallest 0.64.  I don't think this problem really has much to do
 with cddlib using floats instead of doubles.
