thanks Karl-Dieter and John. This clearly shows this is an upstream
(numpy) problem.
Does anybody know how to report the problem upstream? The numpy SPKG.txt
file says that
*Josh* Kantor is the maintainer, but on trac.sagemath.org I can only see
*Jeff* Kantor.
