John (and/or Volker), do you have time to work on this in the coming week
/ 2 weeks? If yes, I would like to merge this in sage-4.7.alpha0. This
ticket might require some more work to get it right, so it would be nice
to know whether you have time. Otherwise we can postpone this to a later
Sage release.
