I cannot get everything working in IE. I don't think we should hold
things up for that. I've made all the advanced features available in IE,
some just fail quietly. IE users get a dialog suggesting they use Chrome
or FF until this is fixed. IE (8 at least) is doing something funny.
Things that work once on a page often don't work again!
So I suggest this is ready for review. I have had to change the patch
sequence a little bit because of things removed from ticket #9232. During
testing please try this on a clean 4.6.2 to make sure I didn't miss
anything.
