Putting as 'needs review' since this probably isn't a big deal, you are
right. Still, in general internal functions should start with an
underscore or something. And who knows?
This *could* be used in the future... see for instance
[http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2566811/encode-complex-number-as-rgb-
pixel-and-back this stackoverflow question], where they say "I've never
come across any ready-made solution to your problem." Here it is!
