On PPC OS X 10.4, this spkg installation hangs at

checking the L1 cache size... 32768 Bytes
checking the L2 cache size... 262144 Bytes
checking for cache sizes...
}}}
I'm assuming this "cache size" checking isn't supposed to take 10 or more
minutes.
